Ik schaamde me diep.

Dus gewoon even "zijn".

The grander gift is to notice that "inactivity" can be filled with unseen activity. A creator knows that energy has its own activity. Energy has its own dynamic. Allow all of the dynamics in creation to take place in the best possible way.
  • Rumi schreef: The only real rest comes when you're alone with God.
  • Lao Tzu schreef: "if you can master the art of non-doing, you would be able to accomplish anything you want." Do nothing and get everything undone’, says he. Follow Nature's Way. The key thing is that you act on what is required by nature, NOT your desire. You allow nature to takes its course, rather than imposing on nature your desires.
149:  Allow your heart to rest in this place of no place. Rest with ever so subtle awareness that has no thought and no "I". Rest as quietly as you can as if suspended between breaths. When the power, the energy, the visions, the teachings suddenly open to you, still continue to rest and suspend yourself as long as possible.
  • “Take rest; a field that has rested gives a bountiful crop.”  -Ovid

ME gaf me letterlijk "Me-time" - tijd met mezelf... iets wat kennelijk heel erg nodig was.

Zo binnen zo buiten....

As above, so below, as within, so without, as the universe, so the soul…~ Hermes Trismegistus ~

~ Deepak Chopra ~

The significance of REST

“PRACTICE THE PAUSE.
When in doubt, pause.
When angry, pause.
When tired, pause.
When stressed, pause.
And when you pause, pray.”
- Unknown -

Nowadays, we live in a world where everything goes faster and faster. We need to do more, faster and better. Many people are busy all the time and when you want to see them it needs to be planned far ahead. We are busy, busy, busy... or we are totally focused on our smartphones. Personally I have noticed that many people are surprised to hear that I take time to do nothing at all, just to be present. To connect with oneself or with the soulworld isn't so self-eveident anymore as it used to be.
Take time to do nothing? I don't have time for that, many people respond. They are constantly looking for distraction or entertainment.

As long as you can be part of that hectic society, you may not be aware of it, but when you are no longer able to take part of it, for example because of a chronic illness, a little less pleasant situation occurs.
You are asked to continuously push your boundaries to meet people's expectations.
For me it has been a long journey of defending myself and pushing boundaries and of no opportunities to be able or to be allowed to be myself.
That it can be otherwise, I learned a few years ago.

In December 2010 I had been invited for a group meeting. At that time I was pretty sick at that time, but I did my very best to present myself as good as I could. However, my body clearly had a different idea about that. After a while my energy was running low, my nervous system was over-stimulated and the spasms which I so dearly would have prevented showed up, visible for everyone. I was deeply ashamed. I was afraid for the reactions and I wished I could just disappear.
But what actually happened was something I never had experienced before. The hostess of the meeting, who I met that day for the first time, looked at me with her eyes overflowing with compassion and an open heart and she told me that it was better for me to stay at her place, because I was clearly unable to drive home. She offered me a tooth-brush and her payama and the guestroom and there was not one unkind word, no awkward feelings at all in her (in me though there were many awkward feelings, because this response was a total new situation for me :) ) I was allowed to be myself, and she absolutely didn't show any signs of fear because of my illness.
For her it was normal to act like that, for me it was a total new experience which has stayed with me until this day. I also wanted to learn to be like her.

She created a space, in which it was totally fine to be myself, with illness and spasms. It was all okay.

I didn't have to pretend to be better than I really was. I didn't have to defend myself or the situation. And everything that I said was abstained. I was welcome to stay and I was no burden at all. Nothing was required...
That day has changed me. I spoke with her for a long time and I realized that she didn't held anything against me, the only thing she saw was someone in need of help and her heart was just overflowing with compassion. Later in time I found out she has a very advanced third eye and that she sees the beauty of the soul in every person, allowing her to see beyond the limitations of the physical body.
That meeting has changed many aspects of my life, but most of all the way I looked at myself and the importance of learning to be myself.

Like I already shared in my last blogposting, every soul has its own qualities and a purpose in this life. By living in alignment with your own soul, you can bring out those qualities. Because of many situations and choices I had made in my life, I had gone far out of alignment and it was time to reconnect again with my true self and with the soul that lady saw in me on that particular day in December of 2010.

I realized more and more that there are two ways to respond to illness: You can fight against, or close your eyes for what you don't want in your life, or you can focus on and promote what you do want in your life. The first option is what many people are doing. There is an illness and it needs to be tackled. Or people just want to receive the recognition that they are ill and are constantly seeking for that recognition. Indeed it is very helpful for your emotional wellbeing if other people acknowledge that you are no longer in good health, however that (often) doesn't take away the causative factors.
The other option is that you focus your attention on what you do need to get your health back.

The first thing, focus your attention on what you don't want, is what I have done in the beginning and to be honest, it wasn't so effective. I actually only felt more sick and more negative.
When I learned about the teachings of Master Sha and soulfulness, and started to learn to take a close look at the soul, I understood more of what was happening.

What you focus your attention on, is what will get stronger.

When I asked the soul world for help through my open spiritual channels, how I would be able to get my health back, after all these years of trying to tackle the virus (in vain) and all the other symptoms caused by it, I received a very suprising message:
Do not focus on the virus and do not try to control the virus. Focus on what you need to get stronger and then your body will take care of the virus.

From that moment on my approach changed. I no longer was fighting a disease. But I started looking for whatever I needed to promote a healthy situaiton. That also was a difficult job to do, I didn't get it for free, but my attention was shifted to the goal I had set for myself.

What is generally known as beneficial for your health, is the significance of:
1) healthy food and drinking enough water
2) appropriate exercises
3) stress management
4) quality of sleep
5) changing bad habits in order to promote optimum health
6) implementing spritual aspects like, gratitude, compassion, relationships with others
All of these aspects will be working on the cellulair level of the body. Each of these can be subject of an individual blog post, but what I would like to write about in this blog is the importance and significance of creating moments of rest.

The moment after all, when I asked through my spiritual channels what my body needed most, the answer most of the time was: Rest and Purification (I will share more about this later).

Rest is very important for the physical body to recover, to reduce stress, for overall health and for the brain. There are many signs that in moments of rest and relaxation the physical body has an opportunity to heal. Rest also is important for the immune system.

This means, real rest. What does that mean? It certainly doesn't mean laying down while you continue to be in a stress modus or fight modus. It also doesn't refer to a situation where you first exhaust yourself completely and exploit your own body, only to crash on the couch for many hours to get some rest in order to recover.
It also doesn't mean that you physically rest, but your mind keeps overactive by worrying or thinking too much or by watching movies filled with negative messages.
Focussing your attention on the outside world, by being distracted by your smartphone or by being frustrated with someone or something also doesn't bring you the necessary rest.

It took me a while before I understood what the message meant, that I had to rest.
With rest, the souls who were talking to me, meant that I had to take time for myself, to go deep within and to listen to what my own soul has to say. I also had to listen to what the light beings around me wanted to tell me, through soul communication. I had to really examine what needed to be healed within myself, in order to bring alignment in my soul, heart, mind and body and restore the yin-yang balance.
To rest didn't mean to do nothing, but I actually had to be active in different ways.
I had to take a journey within myself. With full attention, honesty and an open look at myself and I needed to acknowledge all the pain which was inside of me.
I was asked to really work with all that which I discovered and with all the answers from within,

And that, I have to admit, is quite a busy job. I had to actively work on my ego (I want...); let go of attachments; old pain and negative emotions had to be transformed to acceptance, compassion, light, love, self-esteem, forgiveness and more; I had to open my heart further for myself and others; to give my body an opportunity to be aligned with what my soul actually wanted to do in this lifetime and not with what society expected of me; I had to process traumatic experiences.
I also was asked to open my spiritual channels further, because at the same time I was taking the necessary rest, the light beings around me were working on me.

To rest also means that you no longer seek distraction. It means to "just be". We are 'human beings', we are not 'human doings'. By simply being in the moment, we actually can do a lot. There is a reason why powerful Tao Masters went to live in the mountains, where they can totally devote their lives to aligning with the Tao, without the temptations and distractions of this hectic society.

When you look on the internet, there are many beautiful quotes about Rest, to be found:
  • I once read a text from a martial arts teacher who said: "Be patient in times of inactivity". The grander gift is to notice that "inactivity" can be filled with unseen activity. A creator knows that energy has its own activity. Energy has its own dynamic. Allow all of the dynamics in creation to take place in the best possible way.
  • Rumi wrote: The only real rest comes when you're alone with God.
  • Lao Tzu wrote: "if you can master the art of non-doing, you would be able to accomplish anything you want." Do nothing and get everything undone’, says he. Follow Nature's Way. The key thing is that you act on what is required by nature, NOT your desire. You allow nature to takes its course, rather than imposing on nature your desires.
  • Dr. and Master Sha wrote in his beautiful small book: Living Divine Relationships on pag.

Finally I understood on a deeper level what it meant: to rest.  To connect with the Tao, the Source, and your higher self and in this deep state of rest, you are able to recieve wisdom, so your soul can be nourished and grow. In this way, through the power of the soul, transformation on other levels can take place. Your soul has great power to transform blockages on the mind, in the energy and in the matter. In general, we only use less than 5% of the power of our soul! When you learn how to tap into the power of your soul, you will start to see opportunities instead of blockages and limitations.

Tao is the Source, the essence of all life, the purest Light. It is the invisible presence within us and
around us that nourishes all life. If you connect with this Source, you will receive whatever your soul needs and that will help you to connect deeper with your true self and receive deeper insights and clarity about yourself.

Every deep session with myself in those moments of rest, gave me more insights on where I had lost connection with my true self. ME literally gave me Me-time. Time to be with myself... and that clearly was very necessary.

The true purpose of your life is within you. The power to heal yourself is also within you. You can learn how to connect with that power within. You can learn how to connect with the powerful souls around you who are willing to assist you. You can learn to listen to the messages, you can learn to receive the insights or the images who will come to you in those moments of rest.

For me it is a daily practice, to connect deeper with myself and to let go of everything which doesn't serve me any longer. A practice to connect with my true self and to nourish my soul, so there is more power coming from within to align my soul, heart, mind and body and to truly heal every aspect of me. It also is a way to open my spiritual channels further. It is like the peeling of an union. You work your way through many layers in order to get closer to the core, and the more layers are being removed, the more my physical body is gaining it's strength back.

By being in those moments, fully present and open, you create a space where not only you, but also others, can be who they truly are. You don't need to be or do anything, there is only space for what is.
By learning to live this way,  to follow nature's way, I was able to change the situation I was in. Fighting for recognition from others, was transformed into finding the strength within myself.
For many years I considered ME/CFS to be a punishment, always the need to rest, not being able to do what I wanted to do, but it was exactly what my soul needed in order to realize that I needed to change my life and start to live from my heart and soul. Life doesn't mean you necessarily play an active role in this hectic society. You also can be present.
I was allowed to learn that it was totally okay to be myself, to stand up for who I really am, to open my spiritual channels further and to use them for service.

Modern medicine can do a lot of good things for which I have the deepest respect. But when there is a condition for which modern medicine doesn't have the answers or a treatment yet, there is no reason for despair. Your body also can do a lot. And your soul can do even more! Use that power of your soul! Ask other people with more experience for help, so they can help you on this journey.
I have decided to focus on that. I changed myself, because waiting for a change and a treatment in modern medicine took too much time for me and it made me too desperate. As far as I know there still is no regular treatment for ME, but my life has pretty much changed in many ways now.

When you use that power within you to transform yourself, the world around you also transforms with you. Along with inner transformation comes outer transformation. So within, so without....

As above, so below, as within, so without, as the universe, so the soul…

~ Hermes Trismegistus ~

The world has been waiting for our transformation because it, too, wants transformation. When we are transformed, the world is transformed, because we and the world are one.

~ Deepak Chopra ~

The diffulty was, that there are only a few people who teach you how to truly connect with yourself, or who truly believe how much potential we carry inside of us. You "only" have to learn how to open that infinite potential inside of you, how to purify yourself, how to ease the mind, how to bring harmony and flexibility within your body and how to open your heart and soul to truly connect with your true self. How to return to your purest form. It isn't simpel, but it definitely is worth it!

Soulfulness, as taught by Master Sha, has brought me many simple techniques over the past few years, which helped me in my process to go deep within. It also helped me to get closer to my goal, to live with just as much compassion and openness as the one woman I wrote about above. It taught me powerful affirmations and practices, soul guided meditations, the five power techniques, how to open my spiritual channels, how to receive the messages from my soul and from the souls around me more clearly, and much more.
This inner pathway is what you will have to go and what requires practice and persistance. It will not happen overnight. It is just like starting a new sport, you will have to practice and show dedication before you will start to see good results.
However, to truly start making a connection with your true self, in my opinion is a gift to yourself and every challenge you will face along the way is worth it to be overcome.

You are worth it! You can learn it! You also can learn to live in alignment and in the light and to empower yourself. You can read more on this blog or on my website. You are free to contact me if you have any questions.
I wish everyone beautiful insights in those moments of rest.

What The Great Learning teaches, is to illustrate illustrious virtue; to renovate the people; and to rest in the highest excellence.
The point where to rest being known, the object of pursuit is then determined; and, that being determined, a calm unperturbedness may be attained to. To that calmness there will succeed a tranquil repose. In that repose there may be careful deliberation, and that deliberation will be followed by the attainment of the desired end.
